At Wellington Point State School our clear focus is to inspire our students to be persistent, confident and successful learners. Through the skilful delivery of focused and distinctive programs we aim for a high standard of engagement, achievement and behaviour from all students.
Wellington Point State School will plan, teach, assess and report on the Australian Curriculum for English, Mathematics, Science, History and Geography. Teachers will continue to use the Queensland Essential Learnings and Standards to plan, teach, assess and report on learning areas where the Australian Curriculum is not yet available for implementation. These learning areas include: The Arts, Health and Physical Education, Technology and Languages Other Than English (Japanese). We have developed a comprehensive Pedagogical Framework to support and enable a variety of learners and learning styles.
Our core priorities not only focus on academic achievement but also strive to provide a “balanced” curriculum that gives opportunities in multiple spheres – academic, arts/cultural, sports, and personal development. We aim to achieve the best educational outcomes for every student so that they can achieve their full potential.
